Toasters Recalled by Hamilton Beach Due to Fire Hazard

When the toasters are first plugged into the outlets, the heating element can be energized
although the toaster lifter is in the up or off position, which can pose a fire hazard if the
toaster is near flammable items. The Hamilton Beach recall involves model 22602 toasters. The
model number is printed on the bottom of the toaster. The toaster has a chromed steel exterior,
a front control panel with a rotary toast shade selector and function buttons arranged in an arc,
a front removable crumb tray and "Hamilton Beach" printed below the control panel.
Whitestown Street Naming Initiative
December 19, 2011
The Town Council has established an initiative to seek community public participation in the
naming of several streets in the community. Those streets are: former State Route 334 and County
Road 650 South and former County Roads: East 400 South, East 450 South and 650 East. Available
on the Town's website homepage at www.whitestown.in.gov
as a link is a map highlighting in yellow the boundaries of the streets/roads for renaming purposes.
Recommendations for names can be submitted to:: Town Hall Post Box 325 - 6320 S. Cozy Ln.,
Whitestown, IN 46075 or via email: bpiscitelli@whitestown.in.gov.
Please include the full name, address or email and/or phone number of the person submitting the recommendation.
The deadline for submissions is February 10th, 2012.
Streets should not be named after individuals or businesses unless the individual or business has some

Public Hearing for Farm Heritage Trail

On November 1, 2011, there will be a Public Hearing held in the Town of Whitestown to seek public
comment on continuing the Farm Heritage Trail project from Lebanon to Zionsville in southeast Boone
County. In 2006, the Boone County Commissioners were awarded a $987,350 Transportation Enhancement
Award to acquire land along the former New York Central/Big Four railway in order to develop a multi-model
transportation and recreational corridor. Details of the meeting are listed below:

4th Annual Whitestown Parks 5K Walk/Run

The 4th Annual Whitestown Parks 5K Walk/Run will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011. Start and finish
will be at Panther Park on Buck Street.

Re-Organization Committee Creation

The Town of Whitestown and Worth Township have each adopted resolutions to create a committee
(called a "Reorganization Committee") to examine the possible consolidation and reorganization of
Worth Township and Whitestown. The committee will be made up of six members: three appointed by
Whitestown and three appointed by Worth Township.
The Town of Whitestown currently has an opening and is seeking a resident to serve as one the
Town's appointees to the Reorganization Committee. Applicants for the Town's appointments should
be residents within the corporate boundaries of the Town of Whitestown. Applicants must be willing
to commit to weekly meetings as well as responsibilities outside of meetings such as reading material,
writing drafts of reports, and offering feedback to staff.
Interested applicants should provide his or her name, address, phone number, email address, occupation,
and political party affiliation (the Committee is required to be bipartisan). It would also be helpful
if applicants could answer the following questions:
- What unique perspective can you bring to the Reorganization Committee?
- Why do you want to be considered for the Reorganization Committee?
- Do you have any specific area of expertise which would benefit the Reorganization Committee?
(Specific areas of expertise could include, for example, local and municipal finance, public policy,
political science, writing expertise, accounting, etc.).
All interested applicants should submit their information to Whitestown Town Hall at

Town Council is seeking residents who can bring a specific area of expertise to the study committee. Examples
of areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, municipal law attorneys, political scientists, government
and public policy professors, accountants, operations managers and writing specialists. Specific areas of expertise
are a preference but not a requirement.

Indiana Pesticide Clean Sweep Project

An Indiana Pesticide Clean Sweep Project designed to collect and dispose of suspended, canceled, banned, unusable, opened, unopened or just unwanted pesticides (weed killers, insecticides, rodenticides, fungicides, miticides, etc.) is being sponsored by the Office of Indiana State Chemist (OISC). This disposal service is free of charge up to 250 pounds per participant. Over 250 pounds there will be a $2.00 per pound charge. This is a great opportunity for you to legally dispose of unwanted products at little or no cost.
